Wikipedia and DID

Wikipedia seems to accurately convey the dissension about the diagnoses and treatment of DID. There is a lot of documented data that supports the existence and validity of DID as a Dissociative phenomenon. Although I have no doubt that people who set out to create multiple personalities in certain individuals are able to do so, that does not therefore mean that all cases are created either intentionally or unintentionally by unscrupulous psychology professionals. Journal – June 15th

(PLEX writing)

I know others of me have quoted from this source before. It is a devotional we use – Daily Light Journal by Ann Graham Lotz (the daughter of Billy Graham). The entry for June 15 is so appropriate to post in this blog. It’s a good illustration how God confirms and reassures us that our life is His design and we can take comfort in Him and know that He will guide us as we endeavor to live a life that is pleasing and useful to Him.

The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us.* LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor my eyes lofty. Neither do I concern myself with great matters, nor with things too profound for me. Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child is my soul within me.*

The secret of the LORD is with those who fear Him, and He will show them His Covenant.*There is a God in the heaven who reveals secrets.8Indeed these are the mere edges of His ways, and how small a whisper we hear of Him!

No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.*If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever-the Spirit of truth.

Deut.29: 29; Ps.131:1-2; Ps. 25:14; Dan. 2:28; Job 26:14; John 15:15; John 14: 15-17

As you have meditated on God’s Word, what truths has He revealed to you? How will these affect your life today?”

(concluding summary thought) “God reveals His secrets to those who humbly trust Him, fear Him, and love Him”

It pretty much speaks for itself. DID isn’t the only thing that God whispers to us. He cherishes us just as much as He does all His children, even those of us who are not the birth personality, and He leads us and guides us into growth and maturity…in His time.

This thought brings me to a question – has anyone yet explained the significance of Ecclesiastes 3:1-11, and the resulting “mantra” that we guide our life by? Basically, it speaks to the seasons of life – both hard and happy, concluding with “and God makes all things beautiful in His time.” From that verse we often tell ourselves when we feel troubled or anxious about the season of life we are in: “We want/choose God’s will, His way, in His time”. (later we added “by His grace” on the end)
